Privacy Policy
Effective 19 September 2026 · Android app com.chessproctor.app
Chessproctor is a phone chess app at chessproctor.com. This page explains what we collect, how we use it for fair play, and how ads work. Questions: norednaonlineshop@gmail.com.
Where the app is available
Chessproctor is not offered in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. We do not distribute the app in those countries on Google Play (or elsewhere), and you should not create an account or use the service if you are located there.
Because the app is not available in those regions, we do not ship a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) such as User Messaging Platform (UMP). If we later expand distribution into the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we would add a certified CMP and update this policy before doing so.
Accounts
When you sign up we store:
- Username, email, and a hashed password
- Optional country
- Elo and integrity value
- Friends and finished-game history (moves / PGN, result, ratings)
Session tokens are stored as hashes. A profile photo you pick stays on your phone only. We do not keep it on our servers.
Google and Facebook sign-in
You can sign in with Google or Facebook. Those services send us an account id and email so we can create or link a Chessproctor account. Their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.
Camera, microphone, and images
Rated play and Hardware Lock may use the camera and microphone for live fair-play checks (your space, hands, and board area).
We do not keep camera stills as a normal practice. The phone analyzes frames on the device and sends small findings (flags and scores), not a video archive. We do not run a photo gallery or attach pictures to your account.
In a rare integrity check, a still may be sent to a vision model (Google Gemini) for a yes/no verdict and then discarded. We do not store that still with your profile.
Device and play data
- Touch and move-timing telemetry used to flag automated or unnatural play
- Google Play Integrity / Play Protect signals about whether the device looks unmodified (not a photo)
- Tournament settings you or an organizer choose (camera required, rating window, and similar)
Optional KYC for serious events (planned)
Casual rated play will not require identity documents. For serious or official tournaments, an organizer may ask for optional identity verification (for example a government ID and a short selfie). That would apply only if you enter that event or opt in, and only to confirm you are the account holder.
Ads and other services
Chessproctor is free and shows ads (including Google AdMob banners and similar placements in the official app). Ads may use a device advertising identifier and other signals that the ad SDK collects to serve and measure ads. Google’s ad and privacy terms apply to that processing in addition to this policy.
We only request and show ads where the service is offered. We do not run a CMP/UMP consent flow for EEA, UK, or Switzerland users because the app is not available there (see above).
We also use or may use:
- Google (Play, Sign-In, AdMob, Gemini vision judge for rare integrity checks)
- Facebook (Sign-In)
- 2700chess widgets on the public website
Children
Chessproctor is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.
How long we keep data and your rights
We keep account and game records while the account is open so ratings, friends, and history still work. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at norednaonlineshop@gmail.com. If you close the account we delete or anonymize personal data, except records we must keep for abuse or integrity review.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
